I have found the technique of Nazo weaving and spent my time on this technique to improve. I have applied this style on my many designs. Beside that, i have been teaching this technique to my friends and to my students. Because of the freshness of Nazo style weaving, it is presented as markizet knitting, markizet technique, marquisette technique or caterpillar style weaving technique by some designers. These designers are trying to act as the founder of this my brand new technique. I can easily observe this manner around. One of the most important point of Nazo style weaving is that, because of the stiffness of weaving, it does not let the design loose its shape easily. It is like using a wire but in fact, no wire is included. I briefly tried to explain the technique as shown below.
1. Bring 4 sead beads. Make a pass by following a cross path and bind.
2. Bring 3 sead beads and make a pass from where you get out in step 1.
3. Come back to the starting bead. Bring 3 more sead bead. Go back from where you exit.
4. Now, as you are on the same position as shown above, bring one crystal bead. Go from up to down inside the opposite bead. Bring one more crystal and this time go up from the opposite bead.
5. Attach the up and bottom with a crystal bead. From now on, we have 3 sead bead on the top and one crystal bead. We are working on this 3 sead bead and one crystal bead. Hint: Be careful about that, from now on, all beads have to bind by themselves.
6. After the join of the second crystal bead , return back to the first crystal bead and make an exit from the bead just above and enter the bead number one. Now bring 3 sead bead and turn back from where we exit and enter the number 2 sead bead.
7. Bring 2 sead bead. Enter the blue sead bead and the sead bead mentioned by number 2. Then reach the sead bead mentioned with number 3.
8. After leaving the number 3 sead bead, bring 2 more sead bead. Go inside the number 3 sead bead by using one of the 2 sead bead. From there, make your way to the second crystal bead, then go to the black sead bead. Now, we are on the base of third crystal.
9. From here, bring one more crystal bead and go from top to the bottom from the opposite positioned bead, and follow the path given in the schema. You should make each pass carefully, this is critical for stiffness of weaving.
10. After positioning the crystal bead, we make another pass in the arrow direction throughout number two crystal bead. Then go out from the green bead and come to the bead where we are currently working on. We are performing the same action by following the order as 3 beads then 2 beads and then 2 beads again. I hope, i could briefly explaing the Nazo style weaving. In order to practise, you can watch the videos below.
Or
You can work this style double layer to create new designs. The length of your first Nazo style weaving will be the length of your whole design. Depending on your design, go to the position that you want to make the second pass. This could be left, right, up or down side of the first layer. You are not going to do anything different than what you have done for the first layer. Use the four cross-sectional bead in common in order to make sides close. You can do that in such a way that; position 4 beads crosswise and bring 3 more beads, position them crosswise as well. Then come back to the sead bead on the top and bring 3 more beads make them crosswise bind as just before we did in the previous step, and now you are on the top again. You can attach the starting point and last ending point by using crystal beads. Now, in the aspect of double, we already have 4 sead bead so that you should make a pass throughout 4 fixed sead bead’s exit bead in a crosswise manner by using 3 sead bead. Then you will move for fixed sead bead and you will take 2 more sead bead and make a pass throughout the bead among the one in three which is staying in a vertical position from top to down and return back where you exited to the other fixed sead bead. Perform the same action here as well. On the final step, in order to make in four group, close it with one sead bead and finish the process. You repeat this action on the side face as ‘2’2’1.
